Mobile Wedding | Orchard Assembly | Rainy Day Wedding | Victoria + Nick

Victoria Taylor, I don’t even know where to start with you guys. I don’t know how to tell the internet how amazing you are, how beautiful you were, how all this crazy rain didn’t make a hill of beans when it came to what was important on your special day! From your First Look when Nick was whispering to you such precious things, to your Ceremony when your entire wedding party stood by your sides and guests sat perfectly happy under dripping umbrellas as you said your vows, to the way you looked like NOT A DROP had touched your face (how?! it was amazing!) when we went straight into those magical rainy portraits afterward… It was incredible. I am so thankful I got to witness every minute! Enjoy this sneak peek of a few favorites!

So as a bride, what would you do if it rained cats and dogs on your wedding day? I want to leave you guys with a quote from Victoria. This is the perspective she had all day, and it brought me to tears to see how full of joy she was to be getting married, rain or shine, to her best friend. She said, “Since the day we got engaged we prayed for 2 things: beautiful weather and that the presence of God would be at our ceremony for everyone to feel. It may have rained, but it made it more sweeter, emotional, and intimate. To us, this showed us His presence was pouring blessings on us. We had such a powerful communion time where we were overtaken by His presence. He showed up in a mighty and amazing way! To us, our wedding was even more perfect than we could have ever imagined!”

Nashville Engagement Session | Emily + Scott

Emily + Scott + wide open spaces in quaint, sunny Franklin, TN + downtown Nashville as the sun sank down on a good day, and rolled right into a Music City night…YEAH… I had fun!

First stop was a short little drive out to cutie Franklin, TN to check out the beautifully rustic park at Harlinsdale Farm. I was looking for locations that were richly iconic to the landscape and beauty of what middle Tennessee has to offer, so when Emily proposed this spot, it was a perfect match. I love the way she and Scott just naturally laughed and smiled so much while we ventured around the property making these photos!

We took a little stroll over to the stables where we found more and more beautiful natural light to enjoy.
You guys… come on… this black + white below is one my favorites. Emily, you’re just so beautiful and crazy photogenic. And Scott, for real…
Circling around the property led us to this perfect open grassy field with a silo and rustic barn in the background. It doesn’t get more Tennesse than that.
Then off to downtown Nashville we went! I was sooooo excited to get on the Pedestrian Bridge and capture that skyline. Emily + Scott, THANK YOU for hanging with me until the sun began to set and we could capture those twilight shots. You were troopers, really. It was hot. I am super grateful.

This was such a good time. I love traveling, but when I get to travel AND create portraits for a couple like this, well that’s just the best thing ever. Emily + Scott, see ya in October for your wedding day (whoop whoop!!) at The Grand Hotel down here in the great state of Alabama. XO!

Kathryn + Eric | Mobile Alabama Wedding | Ashland Place + Battle House Hotel

This was a dream! Truly, the perfect day of absolute beauty, peaceful expectation and joy. I remember first meeting Katie and her beautiful mother for coffee to chat about photos and ideas. We shared stories over wedding plans and I instantly adored them both, feeling like we had been friends all our lives. Then, one sunny day, I got to meet handsome Eric at their engagement session. And I instantly knew he was a gem, and he and Katie were perfect for each other, and this was a match made in real Heaven. By the time their special day came around, I was trying to figure out how to get through the day without shedding a few happy tears. I never stood a chance. (*See image below of sweet bridesmaids praying over their best friend.) Thanks to a dream team of vendors, two AMAZING families, and a host of gleeful friends, I got the chance to photograph something really, really, really special. And I am Forever Grateful to you two, #ForeverYoungs. Thank you so much, Katie.
Special thank you to Elizabeth Gelineau for being my other set of eyes and capturing some incredible moments with me. High five, girlfriend. You’re the best.
