Orange Beach Engagement | Sam + Josh

These two are such troopers! It may look like they are all warm and fuzzy in these photos, but it was one chilly and gusty day in Orange Beach when we met for their engagement session! And I definitely look forward to what I’m sure will be a much warmer day in June when they tie the knot in Pensacola! Meeting Sam came about after I had the honor to make her little sister’s senior portraits. I love that I get to capture another very special moment for her family!

We started out the session at the marina at The Wharf before heading to the beautiful sands of Orange Beach…

THIS GIRL. I am just going to sit by the phone and wait for the modeling industry to give me a ring and ask for her contact info. I mean, come on! She is absolutely gorgeous! And I am highly suspicious that she doesn’t even realize it at all! This Senior Portrait session was so much fun. I am going to keep this short and say, just look at these pics people. It doesn’t get any more beautiful than this! Thank you Caylen and Candy for the chance to spend an afternoon capturing such a fun and memorable time in your lives. And Congrats to you, Caylen, class of 2015!

Senior Portrait sessions are some of my favorites. It’s the end of that something you’ve always known and the beginning of something even better. That time when the moments are taking place and becoming the memories that lock down in that special part of your heart that you always go back to for a good laugh or a smile. It’s bittersweet and exciting and once in a lifetime. If you’re looking for YOUR senior portrait photographer, I’d love to create some photos that capture your own style! Let’s count the ways I adore this session:
1 – The Farm Market. The textures, the tomatoes. Two crazy kids in love having their photos made while everyone else shopped for collards and beans.
2 – The Light. Oh my goodness the sweet heavenly insanely-exhilarating-to-a-photographer light of a perfect fall afternoon.
3 – The BIRDS. Speaking of exhilarating, sneaking up on an entire peanut field FULL of migrating blackbirds and having them all swirl as one body around our heads – A moment where I wanted so badly to capture the vastness of what we were seeing on camera yet just stood still long enough to experience that intensity for myself – the sounds of what seemed like thousands of murmuring, beating wings enveloping us in a display of power and stillness, strength and delicacy. A moment of pure awe at my Creator for his mighty works and His promise.
4 – The campfire. As if all of the above wasn’t enough, we finished up with a fire pit and a warm, cozy blanket and that was like the cherry on top of the icing on top of the best cake ever.
5 – Alice + Zach. The couple. These two have something electric and gorgeous. Young love that is waiting in such eager anticipation for the day they are united as husband and wife. Their story isn’t really mine to tell, but I will say sometimes God has a very specific and very clear way of letting you know what path to take. And when you know, you just know.:)I can’t believe I get to be there to capture their vows in January. It’s going to be a beautiful, spiritual, happy-tears-filled day blanketed in a peace from above. I can’t wait. And I think everyone is going to have to pick their jaws up off the floor when they see this bride in her beauty. Especially the groom!
